Real conversations, practised before they happen.
An appointment
Start with one thing you want to ask for or say. You do not have to memorise a script.

What might happen
A possible sequence—not a promise about another person.
- Check where to go, when to arrive, and whether someone can come with you.
- You may check in and wait. You can ask how long the wait may be.
- Explain what you want help with, using speech, writing, or AAC. You can ask what a question or planned activity involves before agreeing.
- Before leaving, ask for the next steps in a form you can use.
Words you could use
Please explain what you are going to do before you start. I may need a pause.
Sensory supports
- Ask whether a quieter waiting area or waiting outside is possible.
- Tell the person if touch, light, sound, or an activity is uncomfortable. You can ask them to pause.
Communication supports
- Bring a short list of your concerns and questions. You do not need to remember everything aloud.
- You can request a support person, written information, or more processing time.
Practise another turn
An imagined response: First, we can go over what you want help with. Would you like the plan explained?
I can ask what a step involves, ask for a pause, or say I do not agree. If this is a health appointment, this practice does not replace medical advice.
Availability depends on Apple approval and your region.
