Real conversations, practised before they happen.
Housing, a landlord, or a call
Start with one thing you want to ask for or say. You do not have to memorise a script.

What might happen
A possible sequence—not a promise about another person.
- Write down the facts: what, where, since when, and any reference number.
- Choose the channel. Email or the portal keeps a record; a call may be faster.
- State the problem and what you are asking for in two sentences.
- Ask for a time, a name, and written confirmation before you finish.
Words you could use
I am reporting a repair. The heating has not worked since Monday. When can someone come, and can you confirm the time in writing?
Sensory supports
- You can ask for a set visit time so nobody arrives unannounced.
- You can ask to handle it by email if calls are hard.
Communication supports
- Have the reference number and your address in front of you.
- You can ask them to repeat or to slow down. You can end the call and continue in writing.
Practise another turn
An imagined response: I can book someone for Thursday morning. I will send a confirmation.
I can ask for a two-hour window, and check that the confirmation arrives. If it does not, I can follow up by email with the date I called.
