Real conversations, practised before they happen.
A conversation at work
Start with one thing you want to ask for or say. You do not have to memorise a script.

What might happen
A possible sequence—not a promise about another person.
- Decide the one thing you want to ask for or say, in a sentence.
- Choose the time and place: a booked slot or a message is fine if the moment is hard.
- Say the one thing, then stop. Silence after it is allowed.
- Agree what happens next and when, and ask for it in writing if that helps.
Words you could use
I want to ask for one change. Could we agree a deadline as a date, and confirm it by email?
Sensory supports
- You can ask for a quieter room or to talk while walking.
- A written follow-up is a normal request in most workplaces.
Communication supports
- Bring one line written down. You can read it.
- You can say "I need a moment" and take it. You can also say you will reply by email.
Practise another turn
An imagined response: Sure. Which date were you thinking?
I can name the date, or ask what is realistic from their side. If they say no, I can ask what would make it possible.
