My Order Came Out Wrong

1. At a restaurant, I order my food. Then the plate arrives, and it is not what I asked for.
2. A wrong order can feel jarring. I planned my meal in my head, and this is not it.
3. I might wonder how it happened.
Why did the wrong food come? The kitchen is busy and orders got mixed up. The server heard my words differently. The kitchen ran out of what I ordered. We do not have enough information to know. 💡 A wrong plate is a mix-up, not a message. Mix-ups are fixable.
4. The good news: restaurants fix orders all the time. Telling the server is normal and polite.
5. I can say it kindly, or ask a grown-up at my table to help me say it.
6. Soon the right food, or a good backup, is in front of me. The mix-up ends when I take my first bite, and the meal goes on.
