When Someone Walks Fast Past Me
Someone I know rushed right by without stopping.. Read it together, at your pace. Every page is written in your child's voice.
1. Sometimes someone I know walks fast, right past me. No stop. No wave. Zoom.
2. I might feel invisible for a second. I might wonder, "Are they avoiding me?"
3. Fast walking can mean many things.
Why might someone rush past me? They are late for something. They really need the bathroom. They are focused on an errand or a worry. We do not have enough information to know. ๐ก Rushing has many reasons. We cannot know someone's thoughts from their walking speed. A zoom-past is almost never a message about me.
4. I can let the zoom go by like a fast car. Later, when they are not rushing, I can say hello.
5. I can practice the later hello.
6. People zoom, and people slow down again. Hellos keep. Mine will be ready.
