Asking a Question
Using questions to learn about someone. Read it together, at your pace. Every page is written in your child's voice.
1. Questions are how I learn what is inside someone's head. Nobody can know without asking.
2. Good questions start with words like what, where, who, and how. "What is your favorite animal?" "How was your trip?"
3. After I ask, I wait for the answer. The answer is the best part.
4. I ask my friend a question.
5. Answers come in all sizes.
What kind of answer might I get? A long, excited answer. A short answer. An answer plus a question back to me. We don't know yet โ and that's okay. ๐ก I can't control the answer, only the asking. Every answer teaches me something.
6. When the question is answered, that little exchange is complete. I learned something real about a real person.
