When Someone Says Sorry to Me
Someone hurt my feelings or my things, and now they are apologizing.. Read it together, at your pace. Every page is written in your child's voice.
1. Sometimes someone hurts my feelings or breaks my thing. Later, they come to me and say, "I am sorry."
2. An apology is a gift of words. It means they noticed, and they care.
3. Here is something important: I might still feel upset, even after the sorry. That is normal. Feelings do not switch off like lights.
4. I do not have to say "It is okay" if it does not feel okay yet. I can accept the sorry and still need time.
5. I can choose my honest answer.
6. Little by little, the hurt gets smaller. The sorry did its job, and my own time did the rest. That is how repairs finish.
