Hearing About Their Favorite Thing
Letting a friend share what they love. Read it together, at your pace. Every page is written in your child's voice.
1. Other people have favorite topics too. When they share, it is their scoop time.
2. I can ask about their thing: "What do you like about it?" "How does it work?" Questions are like saying: your treasure is welcome here.
3. Their topic might not be my favorite. I can still listen for a while. Listening is a present I can give.
4. My friend is excited about their topic.
5. If I get tired of listening, I can gently trade: "Cool! Can I tell you my thing now?" Trading keeps it fair.
6. When their share winds down, that conversation is complete. I helped a friend feel heard โ and next time, it may be my scoop time.
