My Morning Map
The same steps in the same order โ mornings work better with a map.. Read it together, at your pace. Every page is written in your child's voice.
1. Mornings have a lot of steps. My morning map keeps them in order, the same every day.
2. First: wake up and bathroom. My body does these first every single day.
3. Next: clothes on, then breakfast. Clothes first keeps breakfast crumbs off my shirt โ that is the reason for the order.
4. Then: brush teeth. While I brush I can count to twenty in my head, or hum my song.
5. Some mornings feel slow and heavy. That is okay. The map does not rush me โ it just shows the next step, one at a time.
do just the next step ask a grown-up for help with a hard step take three breaths and try again
6. Last: shoes and bag by the door. When shoes and bag are on, my morning map is complete โ I did the whole thing.
7. The map is the same tomorrow, and the day after. Mornings are not a surprise. They are a path I already know.
