When I Feel Disappointed
I really wanted something, and it did not happen.. Read it together, at your pace. Every page is written in your child's voice.
1. Sometimes I really want something. Then it does not happen. I might feel disappointed.
2. Disappointed can feel heavy. My shoulders might droop. I might want to cry.
A heavy chest, a droopy body, maybe tears.
3. It is okay to feel sad about it. My feeling makes sense. Crying is okay too.
4. I can choose what helps. I can ask for a hug. I can take quiet time. I can tell someone what I wanted.
ask for a hug take quiet time hold my favorite thing tell an adult how I feel
5. I can use words for my feeling.
6. Little by little, the heavy feeling gets lighter. Feelings are like weather. They come, and then they go.
