Sharing My Room
Now I share my room with my sibling.. Read it together, at your pace. Every page is written in your child's voice.
1. Some kids share a room with a sibling. Now that is me. Two beds. Two kids. One room.
2. Sharing a room can feel strange at first. Their sounds are in my space. Their things are near my things.
3. It is okay to miss having the room to myself. Missing something is a real feeling.
4. A shared room can still have my places in it. My bed is mine. My shelf is mine. My special things stay my special things.
5. We can make room rules together. A quiet-time signal. A knock-first rule. A this-side, that-side plan. Grown-ups can help us decide.
make a "my shelf" for my special things use headphones for quiet time ask for alone time in another spot ask a grown-up to help us make room rules
6. Sharing a room has good surprises too. Whispered jokes after lights-out. Someone nearby during a storm. A built-in game partner.
7. Day by day, the room starts to feel like ours instead of strange. And I still get to be a whole me, even in a shared room.
