When Someone Else Is Sad
A person near me looks sad, and I want to help.. Read it together, at your pace. Every page is written in your child's voice.
1. Sometimes a person near me is sad. Maybe they are crying. Maybe they are very quiet.
2. Seeing someone sad can give me a feeling too. I might feel worried. I might feel unsure.
3. I do not have to fix their sad feeling. Just being kind is enough.
4. Different people want different things when they are sad. Some want company. Some want space. Both are okay.
5. I can ask what they want.
6. If someone seems very sad or hurt, I can tell an adult. That is helping too.
7. Sad feelings pass, for them and for me. Kindness stays.
