Saying Hello
Greeting a friend. Read it together, at your pace. Every page is written in your child's voice.
1. When I see a friend, I can say hello. Hello is a small word that opens a door.
2. There are many ways to say hello. I can wave. I can say "hi." I can smile if I feel like it. I can hold up my hand for a high five.
3. I can pick the hello that feels right for me today.
4. I see my friend across the room and say hi.
5. Sometimes a friend gives a quick hello and moves on.
Why might their hello be quick? They are rushing somewhere. They are thinking about something else. They are having a tough morning. We don't know yet โ and that's okay. ๐ก The size of a hello does not measure a friendship. Short hellos happen for many reasons.
6. A hello lasts a moment, and then the day goes on. I said hello, and that was a friendly thing to do.
