Sharing With a Friend

Taking turns with toys and things. Read it together, at your pace. Every page is written in your child's voice.

1. Sharing means letting someone use a thing for a while. The thing comes back. Sharing is not losing.
2. When a friend asks to use my toy, I can say yes. I can also say "in five minutes" or "when I finish my turn." Those are honest answers.
3. Some things are extra special to me. I can keep special things safe and share other things. That is a fair plan.
4. I want to use something my friend has.
5. Waiting for a turn can feel long.
What could I do while I wait?
  • Play with something else nearby.
  • Watch and cheer for my friend.
  • Ask my friend to tell me when they're done.
  • I'm not sure yet โ€” and that's okay.
๐Ÿ’ก Turns end and things come back. Waiting is a skill, and it grows with practice.
6. When playtime is over, we put things back. The toys rest until next time. We shared, and that made the playing better.
