When We Want Different Things
My friend and I want to play different games. Read it together, at your pace. Every page is written in your child's voice.
1. Sometimes I want one game and my friend wants another. Two people, two ideas. That happens a lot.
2. Wanting different things is normal. It does not mean we are fighting.
3. We have choices. We can do my game first, then theirs. We can find a third game we both like. We can each play our own game side by side.
4. I suggest a plan to my friend.
5. Side-by-side play is real play too.
What could happen if we play separately for a bit? We drift back together after a while. One of us gets curious about the other's game. We each have fun on our own. We don't know yet โ and that's okay. ๐ก Friends do not have to want the same thing to stay friends.
6. When playtime ends, we say "see you next time." Different wants came and went. The friendship stayed the whole time.
