A food I did not like before is on the table again.. Read it together, at your pace. Every page is written in your child's voice.
1. Sometimes a food I did not like shows up again. Someone says, "Want to try it again?"
2. Here is a strange, true fact: taste buds change as I grow. A food that tasted yucky last year can taste different this year. Not always. But sometimes.
3. Trying again is my choice. Nobody gets to force a bite into my mouth. My mouth belongs to me.
4. If I choose to try, I can make it tiny and safe.
take a bite smaller than a peakeep my water glass closepolitely spit it into a napkin if it is a noask a grown-up to put just a tiny bit on my plate
5. If I try it and still do not like it, that is a real answer. "Still no thank you" is useful information. If I like it now, that is a whole new food for my list.
6. And if I do not want to try today, "no thank you" ends it. A trying moment lasts three seconds either way, and dinner just keeps going. Maybe I will try next year. Maybe not. My list, my pace.
In the app, your child can choose what happens next, rehearse lines out loud with Spark, and try different endings — including hearing a kind "no" and being celebrated for respecting it. Parents can also create fully personalized stories.
