When Someone Doesn't Want to Play
A classmate says no to playing. Read it together, at your pace. Every page is written in your child's voice.
1. Sometimes I ask someone to play, and they say no. No is an answer people are allowed to give.
2. There are many reasons someone says no.
Why might they say no? They are tired today. They already promised to play with someone else. They want to play a different game. We don't know yet โ and that's okay. ๐ก A no is about their day, not about me being bad. There are always many possible reasons.
3. When someone says no, I can answer kindly.
4. After a no, I can find something else fun. I can play with someone else. I can play on my own. My recess is still mine.
5. I am allowed to say no too. When I say no kindly, that is also okay.
6. The moment passes fast. Tomorrow is a new day with new chances to play. This tricky moment is over.
