The Schedule Changed
Today is not going the way the schedule said.. Read it together, at your pace. Every page is written in your child's voice.
1. Sometimes the schedule changes. Art is canceled. Or there is a substitute teacher. Or lunch moves to a new time.
2. My brain likes to know the plan. A changed plan can feel like a bump in the road.
A jolt in my tummy, a busy worried brain, a body that wants the old plan back.
3. Feeling upset about a change is okay. My brain worked hard to expect one thing. Now it has to redraw the map.
4. I can help my brain redraw the map.

5. I can ask my questions. "What comes next? Will art come back? Who is helping today?" Questions turn fog into a map.
6. The new plan is still a plan. It has a start, a middle, and an end — just like the old one.
7. By the end of the day, the new plan is done. And my brain gets stronger every time it bends. Changes end. I remain.
