Thunderstorm

1. Sometimes a thunderstorm comes. The sky gets dark. Rain falls hard.
2. Thunder is a big boom sound. Lightning is a bright flash. The flash comes first, then the boom.
Rumbling booms, bright flashes, drumming rain on the roof.
3. Storms can startle my body. My heart might jump at each boom. Lots of people feel jumpy in storms.
4. I am safe inside. The storm is outside, and the walls and roof keep it there.
5. I can make a cozy storm plan.

6. I can even count between flash and boom. Bigger numbers mean the storm is moving away.
7. Every storm runs out of booms. The sky quiets down. Sometimes there is even a rainbow after.
